A wearable vest that helps a visually impaired person move through a space. A camera on a small onboard computer finds doors and stairs, estimates how far they are, and speaks directions out loud. I am project captain and hardware lead. Research prototype, not a medical device. The live stack runs on a Jetson Orin Nano Super with an IMX219 camera, YOLO-World detection, a depth HUD, and spoken cues at about 13 FPS at 720p. V0.1 sees. A traffic-light program on a lab FPGA board. It runs a real classroom light station for a highway facing one pair of lights and a farm road facing the other. I wrote it in VHDL, tested it in ModelSim, then loaded it onto a DE10-Standard board. A knob on the box sets how fast the lights cycle. The highway stays green until a sensor says a car is waiting on the farm road. Farm green is short. If cars are still waiting, the farm road gets extra time so a line can clear. ### CubeSat Solar Board Spring 2024. Complete. An early hardware project. I designed and soldered a solar power board for a CubeSat, bringing the panel up on the bench with a soldering iron and lab laptop. ### Reusable Water Bottle Cleaning Station Fall 2023. Complete. Freshman design project at Villanova. A compact hallway station for rinsing reusable water bottles, meant to sit next to existing fill stations. A team of five surveyed 25 students. Twenty carried a bottle. Only six of those cleaned it regularly. Dorm sinks are too shallow to rinse a bottle. The bottle goes on upside down. Pressing down rinses it. A button adds soap. A shield keeps spray in the station. Lids stay at the sink. This was a concept and AutoCAD package, not a built prototype.
